Getting Here
The Waterfront Hotel sits on the
seafront of the picturesque fishing village of Portpatrick, Dumfries and
Galloway, South West Scotland some 8 miles south of town of Stranraer, the
gateway to Ireland.
BY CAR
You'll find Portpatrick in the south western corner of Scotland. It's
an easy drive from most cities in the north of England and central Scotland.
And if you are coming from further afield the region is well placed within
the motorway network.
From the North take the A77 from Glasgow.
From the South take the A75 from Dumfries.
Approaching the village on the A77 from Stranraer, pass the War Memorial
and follow the road down to the seafront.
Turn right and the Waterfront is only a few yards away.

SEA
If you are coming from Ireland, the best thing to do is to head for Larne
or Belfast. Then take the ferry to either Stranraer or Cairnryan and you'll
step or drive ashore in Dumfries & Galloway. It is then only a short
journey to Portpatrick, 8 mile to the south of Stranraer. Stena Line operates
between Belfast and Stranraer. P&O Irish Sea Ferries run between Larne
and Cairnryan. In all, there are twenty crossings from Northern Ireland
to Dumfries & Galloway every day.
